Statistics on the scale targets of offshore wind power development in China during the 14th five year plan
By the end of the 13th five year plan (2020), the cumulative installed capacity of offshore wind power in China was 10.87 million KW. Among them, the cumulative installed capacity of offshore wind power in Jiangsu Province is 6.816 million KW, accounting for 62.7% of the total cumulative installed capacity of offshore wind power; Guangdong Province ranks second, accounting for 12.5% of the total installed capacity; The cumulative installed capacity of Fujian accounts for 9.4%; The cumulative installed capacity of Liaoning, Shanghai, Zhejiang, Hebei, Tianjin and Shandong accounts for about 15.5% in total.
On January 29, the “14th five year plan for modern energy system” issued by the national development and Reform Commission and the national energy administration proposed to improve the level of clean and low-carbon energy development in the eastern region, actively promote the development of offshore wind power clusters in the southeast coastal areas, and focus on the construction of offshore wind power bases in Guangdong, Fujian, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Shandong, etc. It can be seen from this that the national energy department has regarded offshore wind television as the key direction to promote the large-scale development of wind power in coastal areas, promote clean and low-carbon energy development, and achieve the dual carbon goal during the 14th Five Year Plan period.
According to statistics, as of mid June 2022, a total of 9 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) in China have announced or solicited opinions on the specific development scale of offshore wind power in the “14th five year plan” through documents. Another province disclosed its own scale of offshore wind power development during the 14th five year plan through informal documents. For the convenience of readers’ reference, this paper collates and compiles the specific objectives of the offshore wind power installation scale in the “14th five year plan” of all provinces (regions and cities).
