Norwegian University of Science and Technology

The Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), most notably NTNU’s strategic research area “Energy and Petroleum – Resources and Environment”, have been an active member of NEEC.

Internationalization is an important part of NTNU’s strategic development, and in selected countries, NTNU is building up long-term cooperation networks with selected universities, to support its own knowledge base and understanding, and to the international activity of Norwegian industry (Team Norway).

China has been selected as one of NTNU’s main countries, and since 2004 NTNU has been working in close cooperation with Innovation Norway to build up its strategic cooperation with 3 selected universities within the following research areas:

  • Xian University of Architecture and Technology: Sustainable Buildings and Rural development;
  • Tsinghua University – Beijing: Energy Conservation in Buildings; Hydrogen/Fuel Cells; Renewable Energy (wind, solar, bio); CO2 management; Industrial Ecology; and
  • Shanghai Jiao Tong University: Gas Technology (LNG, Gas engines, CO2 as working fluid, etc); Renewable energy.
