At the two sessions of this year, Cheng Hanfei, deputy to the National People’s Congress and chief engineer of MCC ecological environmental protection group, submitted the “suggestions on promoting the effective treatment and disposal of sludge from urban sewage treatment plants”, suggesting to carry out the evaluation of the effect of sludge treatment and disposal, formulate special plans and action plans for sludge treatment and disposal, and provide policy support and funds to ensure the resource utilization of sludge.

At the two sessions last year, the environmental chamber of Commerce of the all China Federation of industry and commerce also submitted a proposal on improving the influent and sludge disposal of environmental protection industry, which suggested improving the construction of supporting mechanisms related to sludge treatment and disposal, and issuing relevant policies to encourage enterprises to participate in the investment, construction and operation of sludge treatment and disposal facilities.

For the proposal of the chamber of Commerce for environment of the all China Federation of industry and commerce, the Ministry of ecological environment replied that in the next step, it will prepare and implement the development plan for urban sewage treatment and resource utilization in the 14th five year plan and the implementation plan for harmless and resource utilization of sludge, strive to solve the difficulties of sludge disposal and promote the work related to harmless and resource utilization of sludge.
