Preparation of provincial climate change adaptation action plan
Influenced by global climate change, extreme weather and climate events such as high temperature, drought and heavy rainfall have occurred frequently in China in recent years, and climate risks have been increasing. It is urgent to take active measures to adapt to climate change. In order to implement the National Strategy for Adaptation to Climate Change 2035, guide and standardize the preparation of provincial action plans for adaptation to climate change, and strengthen the efforts of provincial administrative regions to adapt to climate change, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment recently issued the Guidelines for Preparation of Provincial Action Plans for Adaptation to Climate Change.
The Guidance points out that the preparation of a provincial action plan for adaptation to climate change is an important measure for provincial administrative regions to implement the National Strategy for Adaptation to Climate Change 2035 and strengthen provincial action for adaptation to climate change, which is conducive to preventing adverse impacts and risks of climate change in provincial administrative regions, and helping to build an ecological civilization, build a beautiful China and achieve high-quality economic development. On the basis of in-depth analysis of the characteristics and trends, impacts and risks, status quo and situation of climate change in the region, each region should define the main objectives, key tasks and safeguard measures for adaptation to climate change in the region, form a provincial action plan for adaptation to climate change, and provide action guidance for promoting adaptation to climate change in the region.
