Insights on NEA Notice in Enhancing and Promoting Energy Transition
Recently, the National Energy Administration (NEA) issued a notice concerning the Action Plan for the Standardization and Enhancement of Carbon Neutrality.
The Notice highlighted that by 2025, a relatively sophisticated energy standard system that can effectively facilitate and guide green and low-carbon transition shall be established. The established energy standard system will evolve from quality emphasized to quality and efficiency oriented, which will form virtuous synergy with technology innovation and industrial development with the purpose of promoting green and low-carbon transition, energy saving and carbon reduction, technology innovation and industrial chain carbon reduction.
In addition, it is of key importance to promote the standardisation of non-fossil energy, including renewable energies like wind power and photovoltaic. The new energy power system shall be standardised as well to facilitate the transition toward green development and high efficiency of coal, oil and natural gas. The focus is to enable clean and efficient production of coal, and reduce carbon emission during the oil refining process.
