NEA:2023 working priorities
The meeting summarized the results of key work in 2022 and deployed key tasks in 2023.At the meeting, Zhang Jianhua, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director General of the National Energy Administration, announced six key tasks for energy work next year, including fully improving the energy production and supply guarantee capacity, adjusting and optimizing the energy structure, accelerating self-reliance in science and technology, deepening reform in key areas, strengthening energy regulation and strengthening international energy cooperation.
In terms of “improving the energy production and supply guarantee capacity”, the meeting pointed out that we should play the role of coal as a guarantee, consolidate the power supply guarantee foundation, promote the planning and construction of trans provincial transmission channels, promote the increase of oil and gas production and supply, accelerate the construction of oil and gas pipeline networks and reserve capacity, and strengthen the security protection of key energy information infrastructure and the security risk management and control of power grid operation.
According to the data of the National Bureau of Statistics, from January to November this year, the domestic production of raw coal reached 4.09 billion tons, up 9.7% year on year, a record high. It is estimated that the actual volume of medium – and long-term contracts of thermal coal delivered throughout the year is about 2 billion tons, stabilizing the basic supply of thermal coal.
“Since this year, the release of coal production capacity has been accelerated, the output has increased significantly, and the market has operated in a stable and orderly manner, which has effectively guaranteed the stability of power coal supply and price during the peak winter.” On December 30, the National Development and Reform Commission announced that, since December, the daily output of coal dispatching has been stable at a high level for a long time, and the coal production and supply capacity has been continuously enhanced.
Under the task of “adjusting and optimizing the energy structure”, the National Energy Administration requires strengthening the construction of wind power and solar power generation, coordinating hydropower development and ecological protection, actively developing nuclear power in a safe and orderly manner, and strengthening the construction of energy projects for people’s livelihood.
As the focus of new energy development during the “Fourteenth Five Year Plan” period, the construction of domestic scenery bases is speeding up.
According to the data of the National Energy Administration, in 2022, the first batch of large-scale wind power photovoltaic bases of 97.05 million kilowatts has been started, the second and third batch of base projects have been promoted successively, and the annual wind power photovoltaic power generation capacity is expected to increase by more than 120 million kilowatts.
