National Energy Administration: The total installed capacity of wind and solar power in China has exceeded 800 million kilowatts
As of the end of April this year, China has installed 380 million kilowatts of wind power and 440 million kilowatts of photovoltaic power. The total installed capacity of wind and photovoltaic power has exceeded 800 million kilowatts, reaching 820 million kilowatts, accounting for 30.9% of the country’s installed power generation, with wind power accounting for 14.3% and photovoltaic power accounting for 16.6%.
From January to April this year, the newly installed capacity of wind and photovoltaic power in China was 62.51 million kilowatts, accounting for 74% of the country’s newly installed capacity, a year-on-year increase of 11.5 percentage points. Among them, wind power increased by 14.2 million kilowatts and photovoltaic power generation increased by 48.31 million kilowatts, accounting for 16.8% and 57.2% of the country’s newly installed capacity, respectively. From January to April this year, the national wind and photovoltaic power generation reached 482.8 billion kilowatt hours, a year-on-year increase of 26.8%, accounting for 17.2% of the total social electricity consumption, an increase of 3 percentage points compared to the same period last year.
