The Guiding Opinions on Strengthening Ecological Environment Protection and Promoting the Construction of Beautiful China were issued to study the target and indicator system for the construction of ecological environment in beautiful China and guide the implementation of local practices in beautiful China.

On the basis of strict adherence to the bottom line of ecological and environmental protection, accelerate the approval of environmental impact assessment of major investment projects, and approve a total of 180 environmental impact assessments of major infrastructure and resource development, coal supply assurance, major industrial projects, marine engineering, nuclear and radiation projects throughout the year, such as the South-to-North Water Diversion Project, the Guangdong Water Supply Project around the Beibu Gulf, the second phase of the Huaihe River Waterway into the sea, and the container terminal project in the north operation area of Shanghai Xiaoyangshan, etc, The total investment involved exceeded 1.9 trillion yuan. A total of 123000 project EIA documents were approved nationwide, involving a total investment of 23.3 trillion yuan.

We will continue to strengthen the supervision of ecological protection. Implement the Opinions of the General Office of the CPC Central Committee and the General Office of the State Council on Further Strengthening the Protection of Biodiversity, and continue to implement major projects of biodiversity protection. The Measures for the Supervision of the Ecological Environment of the Red Line of Ecological Protection (for Trial Implementation) were issued to carry out the pilot supervision of ecological damage in the red line of ecological protection.
