Insights the 14th five year plan for renewable energy development Yi Yuechun: building a large wind power photovoltaic base to support the development of renewable energy in the 14th five year plan
The “fourteenth five year plan” period is the key period and window period for reaching the carbon peak. China’s renewable energy development stands at a new historical starting point and accelerates into a new stage of high-quality leaping development. On June 1, the “14th five year plan” for renewable energy development was publicly released. According to the unified arrangement of the national energy administration, CREEI will launch a series of expert interview reports with industry media, invite experts in relevant fields to deeply interpret the “plan”, and put forward valuable suggestions for promoting the practical implementation of the “plan”.
Recently, the national development and Reform Commission, the national energy administration and other nine departments jointly issued the “14th five year plan” for renewable energy development (hereinafter referred to as the “plan”), taking the construction of large-scale wind power photovoltaic bases as an important measure to promote the large-scale development of renewable energy during the “14th five year plan” and support the implementation of the planned objectives, which will further accelerate the construction of large-scale wind power photovoltaic bases and help achieve the goal of carbon peak and carbon neutrality on schedule.
The construction of large-scale wind power photovoltaic base is the key support to achieve the goal of carbon peaking and carbon neutralization. Faced with the increasingly serious climate change problem, major countries and regions in the world have promised to increase their independent contributions. China has also made a solemn commitment to carbon peak and carbon neutrality. To achieve the goal of “double carbon”, China’s energy system needs to undergo revolutionary changes. Its core is to build a new power system to support and promote the leaping development of new energy. The construction of a large-scale 10 million kilowatt wind power photovoltaic base project will not only promote the large-scale and high-proportion development of wind power photovoltaic, promote the technological progress and industrial upgrading of the new energy industry, but also provide stable and high-quality green power support for economic and social development, promote the green and low-carbon transformation of China’s energy, and help complete the goals of carbon peak and carbon neutrality and the tasks of the 14th five year plan.
