In 2022, the global wind power order statistics, China stands out!
Recently, Wood McKenz, a professional consulting agency, released an analysis report on the wind power industry. According to the report, new orders for wind power in the world reached a record high last year, with China accounting for 70% of the total.
In 2022, the number of new orders for wind power in the world was 134.6GW, including 44GW in the fourth quarter, both of which reached record highs, up 30% and 90% respectively compared with the same period in 2021.
The Chinese market accounted for 65% and 70% of these two figures respectively. Wood McKenz analyzed that the heat of the Chinese market masked the sluggish growth of other global markets. After deducting the Chinese market, the new orders for the whole year were only 41GW, down 15% from 2021, and significantly lower than the average value of 50GW from 2018 to 2021.
