Fatih Birol, executive director of the International Energy Agency (IEA), has praised China as a world champion in clean energy technologies with its development in solar and wind power, as well as electric vehicles and power batteries. The IEA chief made the remarks at a sideline event held on Monday at the China Pavilion of the ongoing COP28 climate change conference.
