For the first time in the world! China Breakthrough!
The expert team of Chinese Academy of Engineering confirmed that the world’s first offshore pilot test of in-situ direct electrolysis hydrogen production technology without desalinated seawater for offshore wind power was successful in Fujian Xinghua Bay offshore wind farm.
The expert group believes that the design of seawater desalination in situ direct electrolysis hydrogen production equipment is reasonable and operates stably. The feasibility of this technology has been verified through experiments, and it can be an important development path for future offshore renewable energy hydrogen production.
This offshore pilot test was carried out in the Xinghua Bay offshore wind farm in Fujian in the middle and late May, using the world’s first floating offshore hydrogen production platform “Dongfu No.1”, which is combined with renewable energy, jointly developed by Dongfang Electric Group and Academician Xie Heping of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. This platform is also a sea sample machine for seawater desalination free in situ direct electrolytic hydrogen production, integrating in situ hydrogen production, smart energy conversion management, safety detection control The loading, unloading, lifting and other systems are integrated. After withstanding the test of the marine environment, such as 8 level wind, 1 meter high waves and rainstorm, the system has operated stably for more than 240 hours, which verifies the feasibility and practicability of the principle and technology of in-situ direct electrolysis hydrogen production without desalination of seawater originally created by Chinese scientists in the real marine environment.
