First one in China! 136 kilometers offshore, the far-reaching floating wind power platform has been successfully connected to the grid!
The first far-reaching offshore floating wind power platform in China, the “Haiyou Guanlan”, has been successfully integrated into the Wenchang Oilfield Group power grid, officially delivering green power to offshore oil and gas fields. This marks significant progress in the key technologies of China’s far-reaching offshore wind power.
The “Haiyou Guanlan” is located in the offshore oil field waters 136 kilometers away from Wenchang, Hainan. It is composed of wind turbines, floating foundations, mooring systems, and dynamic cables, with an installed capacity of 7.25 megawatts. The green electricity generated by it is connected to the offshore oil field group power grid through a 5-kilometer long dynamic submarine cable. After production, the annual power generation will reach 22 million kilowatt hours, all of which will be used for the production of oil fields, saving nearly 10 million cubic meters of fuel and natural gas annually.
To ensure the continuous and stable operation of the power grid of the oilfield group, Wenchang Oilfield Group has created a “wind power+gas power+smart grid”, integrating the four fuel power stations of the oilfield group with the “Sea Oil Mission” wind power platform into a whole, achieving unified control and management of wind power and oilfield power, ensuring the reliability and stability of the oilfield microgrid.
The power system of offshore oil fields is the lifeblood of offshore oil and gas platforms, and daily production operations and daily life require a large amount of electrical energy, which needs to provide stable power supply. At present, both domestic and foreign offshore oil fields use fossil fuels to provide electricity. The Wenchang Oilfield Group Grid has achieved high stability demand for offshore oil and gas power through the power grid of multiple oil fields. At the same time, by connecting large capacity renewable energy power generation units, it provides a basis for the high proportion of new energy power utilization in future offshore oil and gas fields. It is an effective attempt to create a green and low-carbon new offshore power system in China.
