Shandong will develop 10GW of offshore wind power
Recently the Energy Administration of Shandong Province released a notice on promoting the high-quality development of renewable energy in the province. According to the notice, during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, Shandong will strive to develop 10GW of offshore wind power.
Here are some key messages of the notice:
By 2025, the integrated base of (wind power), photovoltaic power, and energy storage will strive to build an operational capacity of about 20GW.
By 2025, Shandong will build a matching power supply for renewable energy from outside the province. The installed capacity of the base is aimed to reach 10GW, and the channel built for renewable energy shall not be less than 30% in power supply, and the newly built channel shall not be less than 50%.
During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, more than 10GW of distributed photovoltaic installed capacity and 500MW of biomass power installed capacity will be added in the rural area; Around 5GW of distributed photovoltaic installed capacity will be added in the urban area.
By 2025, pumped storage power stations with a capacity of 4GW will be completed, with a scale of 4GW under construction.
Starting from 2021, new centralized wind power and photovoltaic power generation projects shall, in principle, be allocated or leased with energy storage facilities at least 10% of their installed capacity, and the supporting energy storage facilities shall have a continuous charging time of no less than 2 hours, which shall meet the relevant standards and requirements of the province, and be planned, constructed, and put into operation synchronously with the power generation projects.
