Norwegian delegation at China Wind Power 2019
NEEC organised a delegation of Norwegian offshore wind related companies including Equinor, Aker Solutions, Offshore Heavy Industry, Ulstein, Jotun and StormGeo, taking part in this year’s China Wind Power 2019 (21st – 24th Oct) in Beijing. Norway was invited by the major host of CWP 2019 – Chinese wind energy association as a co-organiser together with the British, Danish and Dutch embassies, for a special programme “Developer’s day”.
During the opening ceremony in the afternoon of 21st Oct, The Norwegian Ambassador to China, H.E. Madame Signe Brudeset, delivered welcome speech together with Chinese officials from Chinese Renewable Energy Industries Association, Chinese National Energy Administration, as well directors from International Renewable Energy Agency and Danish Energy Agency.
She pointed out that thanks to Norway’s state-of-the-art maritime and oil and gas industries, Norway has a very strong offshore supply chain. Active in major offshore wind projects in Europe and the Americas, cover the entire offshore wind supply chain. Along with China’s rapid development in offshore wind in recent years, wind power has become an important part of Sino-Norwegian co-operation, Norway believes that by co-operating, larger, lighter and more effective installations will be made which will make wind power more competitive.
