Climate Change and Sustainable Development Institute of Tsinghua University: Launch of the Outcome of the Research on China’s Long-term Low-carbon Development Strategy and Pathway
October 12th, 2020, the Climate Change and Sustainable Development Institute of Tsinghua University launched an conference on the Outcomes of the Research on China’s Long-term Low-carbon Development Strategy and Pathway, For the first time, the core findings of the project’s research report were published systematically, and a discussion was conducted on China’s carbon-neutral path.
At the meeting, Professor He Jiankun, director of the Climate Change and Sustainable Development Institute of Tsinghua University, presented the results of the project on behalf of the research team.
Professor He Jiankun explained the starting point of the project in detail, systematically explained the guiding ideology, multi-scenario conception and research stage of the project, and pointed out that the research tried to respond to important issues of domestic and international concern and focused on relevant policy advice.
Professor He made a general and systemic introduction of the long-term low-carbon transformation of China’s energy and economic as well as the social and economic sustainable development in the future, explaining the systematic, structured data of each critical point within the time span from now to 2050 including some suggestions for the future development such as the “14th Five-Year Plan”.
