ADB Launches Climate Financing Database

In late March, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) launched a new database with detailed information on ADB-funded climate change projects.

The database will contain information on ADB-projects targeted at climate change mitigation and adaptation, and provide detailed information on specific countries, financing instrument, region, source, sectors, and other relevant information. The database contains detailed information about ADB’s 19 climate change projects in China.

ADB’s Vice-President for Knowledge Management and Sustainable Development, Bambang Susantono, hopes that the database will help to strengthen climate change efforts; “We’re hoping that the database will serve as a tool to ensure that current and future climate efforts are effective, efficient, and sustainable”.

The climate finance database will be the latest of ADB’s efforts to reach its $6 billion annual climate financing commitment target by 2020.
