Sino-Norwegian Offshore Wind Workshop
Lead by Innovation Norway (IN) Beijing Office, the Norwegian Energy and Environment Consortium (NEEC) organized a Sino-Norwegian Offshore Wind Workshop on October 18th during 2017 China Wind Power Exhibition and Conference. This event is in cooperation with Norwegian Energy Partners (NORWEP), China Renewable Energy Industries Association(CREIA) and China Wind Energy Association (CWEA).
There are more than 50 participants, mostly from national level energy and environment bureaus and well-known Chinese and Norwegian wind-related companies. IN China’s Country Director Mr. Knut R. Sørlie, NEEC’s manager Ms. Qu Lei, Wind & Solar Director of NORWEP Mr. Jon Dugstad, and Country Manager of NORWEP Mr. Guo Jian have brought in 13 Norwegian Companies including Statoil ASA, DNB ASA, Jotun, DNV GL, Rolls-Royce Marine, Trelleborg, Umoe Mandal, Ulstein, Miros, Vissim AS, Uptime, Marine Aluminium, and Cranemaster, where they shared their experience and know-how during the half-day workshop.
The workshop is hosted and opening by Commercial Counsellor/IN China’s Country Director Mr. Knut R. Sørlie. Minister Counsellor of the Royal Norwegian Embassy Mr. Mattis Raustøl, director of Chinese National Center for Climate Change Strategy and International Cooperation (NCSC) Mr. Li Jun Feng, and senior advisor of CWEA Mr. Liu Weifang attended and gave opening remarks.
A dinner reception for Offshore Wind Industry was held at the residence of the new Norwegian Ambassador to China H.E. Mr. Geir O.Pedersen in the evening. The Ambassador hosted the reception and gave a welcome speech, while the Secretary General of CWEA Mr. Qin Haiyan gave another speech as the Chinese representative.
Following the workshop, a set of company visits to China Three Gorges Corporation, Shanghai Electic, Headquarter and Changxing Shipyard of Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries Company (ZPMC), and Envision Energy was organized for the Norwegian Wind Power Delegation to discuss potential cooperations.
