MingYang wins 500MW offshore turbine deal in China
MingYang Smart Energy has secured an order to supply turbines for a 500MW offshore wind project off the coast of China.
China Huadian Corporation placed the order for its Yangjiang Qingzhou III offshore wind farm, located off the coast of Yangjiang City.
MingYang will supply 37 MySE6.8-158 turbines and 30 MySE8.3-180 turbines for the project. The company will also provide a 220kV offshore substation from which the power generated by the wind turbines will be transferred to land.
The offshore wind project is the largest in China Huadian’s pipeline and will supply enough electricity to power the equivalent of more than 665,000 households per year, according to MingYang.
The wind turbine supplier was also recently selected by China Three Gorges (CTG) to deliver wind turbines for the Xinghua Bay II wind farm off the coast of Xinghua Bay North, Fujian province.
The CTG wind farm will feature typhoon-class MySE 8.0-180 wind turbines.
