MingYang to Install First Floating Wind Turbine in China in 2021
The China’s first floating wind burbine off the coast of Yangjiang in Guangdong province to be mounted by Ming Yang Energy.
Since the completion of integrated load simulation calculation, Mingyang is currently carrying out R&D work on the prototype. The turbine to be a rated output of 5.5 MW. It will be deployed for demonstration purposed at the site of China Three Gorges 400 MW Yangxi Shapa III offshore wind farm, where MingYang has secured a contract to supply 31 of its MySE6.45-180 wind turbines-to be installed on fixed bottom foundations. The wind turbine will be mounted on a semi-submersible floating foundation, for which the tendering process is under way.
