Everbright Secures WTE PPPs in China
Hong Kong-listed China Everbright International has announced that it has been named preferred bidder on two waste-to-energy (WTE) PPP projects valued at around Rmb1.725 billion ($240 million) in China’s Guangdong and Zhejiang provinces.
The projects are:
- the Rmb349 million Lechang WTE phase 1 in Shaoguan, Guangdong (广东韶关乐昌垃圾焚烧发电）
- the Rmb1.376 billion Fuyang WTE phase 1 in Hangzhou, Zhejiang （浙江杭州富阳垃圾焚烧发电）
The 1,000-tonne daily waste processing Lechang project has a 30-year concession period including construction. Phase 1 has a designed daily waste processing capacity of 500 tonnes. Equipment will include a 500 tonne-per-day grate furnace and a 12MW turbine power generator.
The 2,250-tonnes tonne daily waste processing Fuyang project has an equivalent concession period. Phase 1 has a designed daily waste processing capacity of 1,500 tonnes, or two-thirds of the designed total. Equipment will consist of two 750 tonne-per-day grate furnaces and a 40MW turbine power generator.
China Everbright anticipates the two WTE power plants to generate electricity of about 72GWh and 180GWh per year, respectively.
