Last week, between the 13th – 16th June, the Norwegian Energy & Environment Consortium (NEEC) participated with both a stand and seminar at the 15th China International Environmental Protection Exhibition and Conference (CIEPEC).
China’s Most Important Event for Environmental Protection
CIEPEC serves as a platform for forming new business partnerships, and is considered to be the most important event in China for exhibiting environmental technologies, products, and services. It is an annual conference organized by the China Association of Environmental Protection Industry (CAEPI), and is now in its 15th year. Annually this conference attracts thousands of visitors and hundreds of participating companies every year. For example, in 2015 CIEPEC had over 48,000 visitors and nearly 600 exhibitors.
It is primarily sponsored by the Chinese Ministry of Environmental Protection, but a range of other governmental departments such as the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Science and Technology also sponsor the event.
Stand and Seminar at CIEPEC
NEEC and three members of NEEC’s Water & Waste Cluster; Cambi, NIVA and CSDI WaterTech, were part of Innovation Norway’s ‘Norway Pavilion’ and had the opportunity to display their products and services to potential clients and partners.
On Wednesday 14t of June, NEEC co-organized with the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Beijing, Innovation Norway, the China Association of Environmental Protection Industry, the China Environment Chamber of Commerce and the EU-China Industrial and Commercial Investment Promotion Union (ECIPU), a one day seminar; the ‘Norway China Environmental Protection Technical Seminar’. The seminar included speakers from more than 12 Chinese and Norwegian organizations, including the Secretary General of China Environment Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Ma Hui, and Mr. Marius Kleiven, Director Business Unit Asia Pacific of CAMBI, and Mr. JI Junbiao, Vice President of Poten Environment Group. The seminar attracted a full house with both Norwegian and Chinese participants, and was successfully concluded with a dinner reception held at the Norwegian Ambassador to China’s residence afterwards.
