A new work-permit pilot program to be launched
Last week the Ministry of Public Security announced that they will launch a pilot program to give expats who have been employed for more than two consecutive years in China the ability to apply for a five-year work permit.
It is expected that the pilot program will be launched within the next couple of months, and will apply for nine cities and provinces, including Beijing, Wuhan and Hebei, and for 11 free-trade zones such as Tianjin, Chongqing and Henan.

Did you also know that in January it became easier for postgraduate degree holders to work in China?
The Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Education and Human Resources and Social Security announced on January 6th that foreigners who have completed master’s programs within the last year are now eligible to apply for a Z visa within the Chinese mainland without prior postgraduate work experience.
The degree can either come from Chinese or “well-known” international institutions.
