A batch of Asia’s largest single capacity 10MW offshore wind turbine has just been delivered
Early in the morning on March 30, a batch of 10MW Dongfang Electric offshore wind turbines just got delivered to the offshore. A few days later, they will be taken to Changle area A, C for hoisting.
Fujian is one of the regions with the most abundant offshore wind power resources in China, with the average annual wind speed exceeding 9 meters per second.
Fujian Changle area A and area C projects are located in the sea area 32-40 kilometers away from the coastline of Changle District, which are respectively developed by Three Gorges Group and Fujian Funeng Co Ltd. The Changle Offshore Wind Farm Area A project of Three Gorges Group is the first batch project of Dongfang Electric 10MW offshore wind power units, and 10 10MW offshore typhoon resistant wind turbines will be installed.
The 200MW project of Fujian Changle Offshore Wind Farm Area C of Fujian Funeng Co Ltd. will install 20 10MW typhoon resistant offshore wind turbines of Dongfang Electric.
Both projects are scheduled to be operational by October this year.
After 30 turbines are installed, they will boost the local economic and social transformation and development as well as the smooth realization of the goal of reaching carbon peak in 2030 and carbon neutral in 2060.
It is estimated that under the annual average wind speed of 10 meters/second, the wind farm can output 1.2 billion kilowatt-hours of clean electric energy every year, which can meet the normal electricity consumption of 600,000 families of three for a year and can reduce the consumption of coal by 390,000 tons and carbon dioxide emission by 1.05 million tons.
Since capacity of a single turbine has reached 10MW, after the turbines are put into operation smoothly, it will effectively promote the reduction of the cost per kilowatt hour of offshore wind power, and have a good demonstration effect on improving the ocean utilization rate and enhancing the competitiveness of wind power products.
